The Comparison of the Results of the Repetitive nerve Stimulation Test before and after Thymectomy on Patient with myasthenia Gravis

Abstract
Authors performed interdigital sensory nerve conduction study, using near nerve conduction technique by Oh's method, on 75 left feet of 75 noraml controls and obtained normal values. Statistical analysis with Student's t-test was performed to
evaluate
differences in the data between each age groups. The differences of some components between 11-50 year group and 51-60 year group might reflect the effect of age-related degeneration process of the peripheral nerve.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1) The maximum conduction velocity, minimum conduction velocity, and duration of sensory compound nerve action potential of normal digital or interdigital nerves showed significant statistical differences between 11-50 year group and 51-60
year
group(p<0.05)
2) The negative peak conduction velocity showed significant statistical differences in the I and V digital, and the I-II and II-III interdigital nerves between 11-50 year group and 51-60 year group(p<0.05).
3) The duration of sensory compound nerve action potential of normal digital or interdigital nerves except the V digital nerve showed significant statistical differences between 11=50 year group and 51-60 year group(p<0.05).
4) Between 51-60 year and 61-70 year groups, there were significant statistical differences only in the maximum conduction velocity of the III-IV interdigital and V digital nerves, in the negative peak conduction velocities of the II-IV and IV-V
interdigital nerves, and in the minimum conduction velocity of the V digital nerve(p<0.05). The amplitude and duration of compound nerve action potential showed significant differences in the I digital and I-II, II-III, IV-V interdigital nerves
and
in
the I-II, II-III, IV-V interdigital nerves relatively(p<0.05).
5) Between 61-70 year group and over 71 year group, there were significant differences only in the duration of compound nerve action potential of the II-III interdigital nerve(p<0.05). The other components in this study showed no significant
statistical differences between 51-60, 61-70, and over 71 year groups.
